Veronica L. Milton

Veronica LaQuan Milton of St. Petersburg, FL went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29th, 2019 at 10:30 am from Tampa General Hospital. She was born in Thomasville, GA on March 70, 1970 to Mr. James and Berdia Simmons who preceded her in death; Berdia in 1978 and James in 2015. Her father moved Veronica and her two siblings to St. Petersburg, Florida in L982, where he meets and then later married Sharon Thorn and together they added two more children to their family including Sharon's daughter as a part of the Simmons family union. Veronica received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1994 and soon after was baptized at the New Congregation Church of God at the young age of thirteen. She was active in the choir and served on the usher board. She later joined Central Florida Church of God, she met and fell in love and married Mr. Darren Milton on February 4th, 2011. She was a member of the Board of Trustee, she held a bible study in her home and was a faithful minister. From this holy union, she helped raise Cameron Milton their beloved son. Veronica was an employee of Burkett Villa Group Home when she was inspired and motivated to start her own business after visiting her Uncle Ellis Child Care business. ln 2003, Veronica broke grounds for her new business and called it, " Veronica's Cozy Cottage". Her business grew by leaps and bounds ending with a total of three group homes. Veronica Milton leaves behind her loving husband, Darren Milton; son (Cameron Milton), loving step-mother, Sharon Simmons and seven siblings; Darrell Simmons (Veronica) of St. Petersburg, FL, Lawanda L. Simmons of St. Petersburg, FL, Apryl Simmons of Kenneth City, Fl, Ronshea Edwards (Jermaine) of Plant City, Fl Sasha Simmons of St. Petersburg, FL, Priscilla Simmons of Springhill, FL and Christopher Simmons of St. Petersburg, FL. Veronica also leaves behind four aunts, Ms. Willie Lee Simmons of Thomasville, Ga., Mary Brunson of Atlantic, Ga., Carol Myers, Elaine Youmus of Thomasville, Ga., and three uncles- Carlton Simmons of Thomasville, Ga., Ellis Simmons and wife (Lillian)of Atlantic, Ga. and David Celebration of life Milhouse of Thomasville, Ga., a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and church family to cherish her loving memories.
