Johnie Lee Henry was born on January 23, 1922 in Leary, Ga. to Fletcher and Jessie Mae Henry. During his early childhood he attended the public schools of Leary, Ga. In 1940 He came to Largo Florida looking for a place to make a home. After finding a place to settle down he returned to Leary, Ga. to wed the woman that God had placed in his life, Iva Lee Henry. On July 27, 1941 they were married and that same year Mr. Henry along with his new bride returned to Largo, Florida to start their lives together. They were married 55 years, four months and one day, before her death. Mr. Henry was instrumental in helping others migrate from the area of Leary, Ga. to Largo, Florida. Mr. Henry was a member of Shiloh M. B. Church, Largo and was a mason. He was self employed in the lawn service industry for over 70 years. His devotion and love for family and friends will forever be engraved upon the hearts of those he touched. Johnie Lee departed this life on Monday July 20, 2015 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Florida. Survivors include: his son; Jimmie Lee Love, Largo; five Grandchildren, Marian Henry, Linda Diane Haynes(Barrol Hyman) of Largo Purcell Haynes, TX; Michael Haynes(Connie) of San Antonio, TX; Jared Driver of Largo; nine Great-grandchildren, Mateaus Haynes and Carl Green, Anneatra Green(who was his special great-grandchild) Darrin Haynes, Jawon Boyd, Danielle Haynes, Porshae Haynes and Rochell Haynes and Jarrett Haynes; one aunt, Aleatha Crayton of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loving friends.
