Annie Mae Maynor-Thomas was born on October 6, 1939 to Lessie Maynor in Calvary, Georgia. She came to Tampa, FL., in 1962 and eventually to St. Petersburg, FL. She worked as a cook at the Bradford Prescott House for many years and later worked as a homemaker for Dr. and Mrs. Hammeroff for over 30 years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Joseph Gordon for many years. She was in the Choir and served on the Mission Department. She joined the Unity Christian Church in 2008 and served there until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lessie Maynor and sister, Dorothy Williams. Annie Mae Maynor-Thomas departed this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She leaves to mourn her passing... Four daughters, Annie G., Jacqueline and Teresa Maynor, and Kimberly Thomas; One son, Troy (Lera)Thomas; Two brothers, Willie and Charles (Patricia) Maynor; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends. One god-son, Johnnie Carter and god-daughter, Shirley Jones. Visitation will be held on Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chapel of Zion Hill Mortuary.
